The R Clinic
The R Clinic, tucked behind Society Coffee on Grazier Lane in Belconnen, sits at the intersection of medical aesthetics, vascular care, and hair restoration, all under one doctor-led roof.
Sibling team Dr Wen-Shan Sung and Dr Melanie Sung first ran a general practice together in Casey for three years, gaining the kind of clinical grounding that now underpins everything the R Clinic does.
Initially drawn to hair restoration due to his own experience with alopecia, Dr Wen now operates what it describes as Canberra’s first dedicated FUE hair transplant centre inside the R Clinic.
Dr Wen holds fellowships with both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine, and is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
Dr Melanie brought her own history with teenage acne into a practice that now offers dedicated acne treatment solutions alongside her vascular work. She recently achieved Fellowship of the Australasian College of Phlebology, among a small cohort of women to hold it.
“They both have personal experience with the things they’re also treating clients for. It gives them the ability to really empathise with what their patients are going through.”

A Doctor-Led Approach to Aesthetic Medicine in Canberra
The clinic’s breadth sets it apart from most aesthetic providers in the region. Treatments span skin microneedling, Morpheus8 radiofrequency, the FDA-cleared AviClear acne laser, pigment and melasma treatments.
Clients consistently describe walking into R Clinic a calm, unhurried environment, one that feels as considered and professional as the clinical work happening inside it.
Pigmentation and sun damage are among the most common concerns the team sees on the aesthetic side, and the laser suite is equipped to treat both in-house. For clients managing hyperhidrosis, miraDry offers a permanent sweat reduction option that Stacey describes as “another avenue” most people don’t realise is available at a clinic like this.
“I think we’re probably one of the only clinics in the Canberra region that has such a wide range of lasers available,” she said. “We can treat many things in-house.”
That in house expertise extends to the vein care side of the clinic, where an in-house vascular sonographer supports ultrasound assessments as part of the treatment process.
A dedicated Canberra Acne Clinic is just about to launch as a new initiative, offering drug-free pathways to acne treatment for clients who are not suited to, or simply don’t want, systemic medication for acne treatment. “It’s a game changer for that particular concern,” Stacey said of the new technology behind it.
At R Clinic, The Consultation Comes First
What advice would the R Clinic give when seeking out an aesthetic treatment?
“People like to just book in straight away for treatment,” Stacey explains, “but the initial consultation process is so important. You get an understanding of the provider, whether they’re a good fit personally, whether you trust them, and also to make sure that you are suitable for the treatment as well.”
If you’ve been weighing up where to start with skin, veins, hair, or acne treatment in Canberra, The R Clinic is worth a conversation. Get in touch to book a consultation and find out whether their team can help.
